DESCRIPTION: 

Looking and playing the part of succulents, Dyckias are actually a
genus of the bromeliad family. Their love of sun, drought tolerance,
and unique appearance often make people think they are succulents.
But unlike true succulents, IT doesn’t store its own water in its leaves.

Tolerant of extreme heat and cold, this succulent has stricking rosettes
of fleshy, gracefully curving, burgundy leaves adorned with brilliant
white spines.

It will maintain its burgundy color year- round if placed in full sun.
In summer, spikes of bright orange flowers are borne in profusion
above the foliage attracting humminbirds.

Great for beds and borders, rock gardens, succulent or
Mediterranean gardens.
